Hi all,
I am desperate for whatever assistance at this point o_O and would appreciate whatever assist given (Hi, I'm new to the forums, nice to come across you lot all ❤️)

I take a Macbook 2020 and a catechism G7X Mk II and I am wanting to upload videos and images to my MacBook. I am now running the Big Sur update also. I have looked at and so many different tutorials of how to transfer images, tin find nothing that will work. I wondered if anyone out at that place might have any insight on this result? (Image capture won't recognise when camera is plugged in. Just an FYI)

Many cheers :)

Howdy. Exactly what accessories do you lot have in order to connect your Macbook to your photographic camera, are yous trying to use WIFI? Or do y'all take an USD-C retentiveness card reader or an USC-C adaptor?

Have you lot tried Photos vi App - are you connecting the camera with a cablevision to the Mac? Seems like you are?

In the Photos App on your MacBook Air - the camera should prove upwards with all the current images - you should be able to transfer them to the Photos Library.

Another Alternative is open Preview and look for the import from "Photographic camera" "iPhone" etc

Photos is nifty for organizing and storing your images

No I haven't tried that, merely I'll become straight on information technology. I have been connecting via a cable rather than WiFi.

I have looked on image capture and the photographic camera isn't fifty-fifty showing upwards equally being connected. I take installed `Big Sur' so I am wondering if that update has any effect on this? It's weird. I am however new to owning a Mac over again hence being clueless :D

Thank you :)

USC-C adaptor. I've tried WiFi simply there's no drivers to download from Canon that supports the "Big Sur" update for my camera. Information technology's all really frustrating :(.

Thank you :)

USC-C adaptor. I've tried WiFi but at that place's no drivers to download from Canon that supports the "Big Sur" update for my camera. It's all actually frustrating :(.

Give thanks you lot :)

I had the aforementioned trouble (many times with many cameras) the only way I made it work was with an USB-C SD adaptor. Before that you may attempt using 'command+spacebar' and enter to 'diskutiliy' and check if your camera appears equally a deejay.

Hello Nic,
I remove the SDXC bill of fare from my camera and plug it into a USB SD Menu reader. It then appears as a deejay
on my desktop. I and so use XNViewMP to downloaded the images into folders. I have configured XNViewMP
to create YYYY-MM-DD folders based on the EXIF date from the images. 1 done, I eject the SDXC carte
and remove it from the card reader. (This as well works for video files as well every bit prototype files)

I tried using macOS Photos, but the large number of images I take means that my MBP is constantly being
hammered by the photoanalysisd procedure every bit it tries to analyse all of my photos. I therefore gave up using
photos and just keep my images in a binder structure \YYYY\MM\DD and append a description so that I end
upward with something like "\2020\05\2020-05-29 Eve's Birthday Political party". I then use Apollo One as a viewer.

This works well for me with Canon and Nikon, merely I am certain there are other ways. I am nonetheless running Catalina
on my MBP, but the higher up should piece of work with Big Sur.

Cheers,
Richard.

I had the same problem (many times with many cameras) the only way I made it work was with an USB-C SD adaptor. Before that y'all may effort using 'command+spacebar' and enter to 'diskutiliy' and cheque if your camera appears every bit a disk.

I tried the disk utility and it wasn't coming up. I take a feeling this new update *might* be a reason information technology'due south not working? I have plant a way round information technology though. I was uploading to my android from my camera so I installed "android file transfer' I connect my telephone via USB-C and tin can drag and drop the files that way. Non platonic but it works :).
Cheers and then much for your help :)

Hi Richard :). I don't accept an SD card reader as even so (I practice think having a multiport would be useful). I did observe a way round it, thankfully. I transfer from camera to telephone, from phone to Mac via Android file transfer app. A scrap frustrating information technology'southward not as direct forwards every bit plugging it in and exporting direct.

Give thanks you and so much for replying and for your help. Hopefully this thread is useful to anyone having similar/aforementioned issues :)

Hello Richard :). I don't have an SD menu reader equally yet (I do remember having a multiport would be useful). I did observe a mode round it, thankfully. Thank y'all then much for replying and for your help. Hopefully this thread is useful to anyone having similar/same bug :)

We are glad you managed to go your photos. And a frustrating thing to non to be able to use your hardware as intended. I Have a docking station...I never tried to use it, volition try for SD importing and share the results at the forum.
